How to choose a built-in fridge: niche, height and door fixing
A built-in fridge is installed in a kitchen cabinet behind a furniture door, so the niche dimensions matter most. Our range includes Samsung, Gorenje, Candy, Haier and Berk models: bottom-freezer fridges 177-178 cm and about 193 cm tall and one under-counter fridge. Column models are 54 cm wide. The height of a built-in fridge matches the niche height: 177-178 cm models are made for a niche about 178 cm high, the models about 193 cm tall for a higher niche. The manufacturer gives the exact niche dimensions and ventilation requirements in the installation manual, so compare them with your kitchen cabinet before buying.
Door fixing: sliding hinges or door-on-door
- Sliding hinges (sliding door). The furniture door hangs on the cabinet hinges and is linked to the fridge door by a sliding fitting. Examples: Gorenje NRKI519E41, Haier EHBQW5518E and Candy ECNBQL3518EV.
- Door-on-door. The furniture door is fixed directly to the fridge door and they open together. Examples: Gorenje NRKI517E62WF and Gorenje NRKI517E82WF.
The fixing type is listed in each model's specifications. If the new fridge uses a different system from the old one, the technician adapts the fixing during installation.
No Frost, Low Frost or static cooling
Most of our built-in fridges have No Frost: ice does not build up in the freezer and it never needs manual defrosting. Candy ECNBQL3518EV has Low Frost, where ice forms more slowly. Berk BRI-175E W and Candy CM4SE68W have static cooling: the fridge compartment defrosts automatically, but the freezer has to be defrosted by hand. All No Frost models are in No Frost refrigerators.
How to prepare for installation
- Niche dimensions. Measure the height, width and depth of the niche and compare them with the installation manual.
- Old fridge model. If you are replacing an old built-in fridge, note its model from the rating plate: this makes it easier to find a new model of the same height.
- Photos. Photos of the niche and the furniture door help the technician assess the job and agree the price before the visit.
- Defrosting. Defrost and empty the old fridge in advance.
Delivery, installation and warranty
- Delivery by our own transport in Riga and up to 20 km from the warehouse: from 20 € depending on distance. Carry-in 10 € per floor; if the item fits in the lift, it counts as one floor. See Delivery.
- Built-in installation with delivery in Riga and the nearby area: from 120 €. The technician removes the old fridge, installs the new one and adjusts the furniture door. See Installation.
- Free recycling of the old appliance.

- Pickup from our warehouse in Riga, Rēzeknes iela 3A, on weekdays 11:00-18:00.

Frequently asked questions
Can a built-in fridge stand without furniture?
No. A built-in fridge is made to be installed in a kitchen cabinet with a furniture door. If the fridge will stand on its own, choose a freestanding model.
Will the new fridge fit in the old niche?
Usually yes, if the height and niche requirements of the new fridge match the old one. Compare the height of both models and the niche dimensions in the manual. If the door fixing differs, the technician adapts it during installation.
How much does installation cost?
From 120 € in Riga and the nearby area: delivery within 12 km of our warehouse, carry-in with a lift, removal of the old fridge, installation of the new one and adjustment of the furniture door. From 12 to 20 km there is a 15 € distance surcharge, without a lift a floor surcharge; the price is shown in the order form. We agree the price of non-standard work before the work. Recycling of the old fridge is free.
Why is the capacity of a built-in fridge smaller?
The fridge has to fit in the niche together with its walls and insulation, so a freestanding model of the same height usually holds more. Our 177-178 cm built-in models have 249-268 l, while freestanding bottom-freezer fridges about 185 cm tall have about 300-360 l.
