How to choose a gas hob
Here are all our built-in gas hobs: Electrolux, AEG and Gorenje models with 4 burners. Most are 60 cm wide, and there is also a 75 cm hob. A short guide to the surface, burners, safety and installation is below.

Glass or stainless steel

Burners and safety
- Wok burner. The largest burner with several flame rings: for a wok and large pots. On our models it is 3.5-4 kW.
- Auxiliary burner. The smallest burner for sauces and small pans, usually about 1 kW.
- Flame failure device. If the flame goes out, the gas supply to the burner is cut off. Most of our models have it.
- Electric ignition. The flame is lit with the knob, no matches needed.
Installation
Built-in dimensions are given in each model's specifications: for 60 cm hobs the worktop cut-out is usually about 56 × 48 cm. Have the hob connected to the gas pipe by a certified gas specialist. Hobs are usually set for natural gas at the factory; bottled (LPG) gas needs different nozzles, which some models include.

Frequently asked questions
Can a gas hob go above a dishwasher?
Some Electrolux and AEG models allow it with an extra accessory. If it is allowed, it is stated in the model's specifications.
Does the hob work with bottled gas?
Yes, after the nozzles are changed to LPG ones. Some models include them, for others they are bought separately.
Gas or induction?
A gas hob suits a home that already has a gas pipe. Induction heats faster and is easier to clean, but needs a suitable electrical connection and pans with a magnetic base. See induction hobs.
