How to choose a freezer: upright or chest, capacity and placement
Our range includes Gorenje and Berk freezers: upright freezers with drawers from 85 to 240 l and chest freezers from 99 to 371 l. Below is a short guide to the type, capacity, No Frost and where a freezer can stand.

In a chest freezer food is stacked in layers, so it holds a lot for large stocks. For everyday use an upright freezer with drawers is handier, as you can see everything at once.
No Frost or manual defrosting
No Frost models are Gorenje FN617EEW5 and FN617EES5 (240 l) and Gorenje FN4172CW (194 l): ice does not build up and the freezer never needs defrosting. Berk upright freezers and all chest freezers are defrosted by hand: switch the freezer off, move the food to a cool place for a while and let the ice melt. The manufacturer gives the interval in the manual.
Garage, summer house and unheated rooms
The climate class shows the room temperature range in which the freezer works properly. For our freezers the lower limit is +10 °C (class SN) or +16 °C (class N): for example, SN-ST for Berk chest freezers means +10 to +38 °C. In a room that gets colder than this limit in winter, such as an unheated garage, the freezer may not work properly. The climate class is listed in each model's specifications.

Freezing capacity shows how many kilograms of fresh food the freezer can freeze in a day. If you freeze a large harvest at once, compare this figure. The smallest freezers are the upright Berk BFT-8552 W (85 l, 85 cm tall) and the chest Berk BCF-0991E W (99 l).
Delivery, installation and warranty
- Delivery by our own transport in Riga and up to 20 km from the warehouse: from 20 € depending on distance. Carry-in 10 € per floor; if the item fits in the lift, it counts as one floor. See Delivery.
- Free recycling of the old appliance.
- DPD delivery across Latvia: the product page shows the price for your postcode.
- Pickup from our warehouse in Riga, Rēzeknes iela 3A, on weekdays 11:00-18:00.

Frequently asked questions
Can a freezer stand in an unheated garage?
Only if the temperature there stays within the climate class range. For our freezers the lower limit is +10 °C or +16 °C, so they are not made for a garage that freezes in winter.
How often should a chest freezer be defrosted?
When the ice layer gets thick, or as often as the manufacturer recommends in the manual. Switch the freezer off while defrosting and move the food to a cool place for a while.
When can I switch the freezer on after delivery?
The manufacturer sets the waiting time and gives it in the user manual. This matters especially if the freezer was transported lying down.
Can you take away the old freezer?
Yes. When we deliver the new one with our own transport in Riga and the nearby area, we take the old one for free recycling; you only pay for carrying it down. Defrost the old freezer in advance.
