What to look out for
- Phone platform. Setting up an AirTag requires an Apple Account and an iPhone or iPad with iOS or iPadOS 26.0 or later. Precision Finding works with iPhone Air or iPhone 15 and later, except iPhone 16e and 17e.
- Left-behind alerts. The Xiaomi Tag supports them and NFC Lost Mode only on the Apple Find My network. If these features matter to you, add the tracker to Apple Find My.
- Battery. Both trackers use a replaceable CR2032 battery, so when it runs flat you replace the battery, not the whole tracker.
