How to choose an AEG hob
AEG is a German brand within Electrolux Group. Our AEG hobs are mostly induction, with some ceramic, gas and gas-electric models. Half of them have Hob²Hood: the hob controls a compatible cooker hood by itself. AEG series from 5000 to 9000 show the feature level.

AEG features
- SenseBoil. Detects boiling water and lowers the power so nothing boils over.
- SenseFry. Tells you when the pan reaches the right temperature and keeps it there.
- Hob²Hood. The hob uses an infrared signal to switch on the hood fan and light. Both appliances need the function.
- MaxiSense. Zones detect the size and shape of the pan by themselves.
- Bridge. Joins two zones into one for a large pan.
- SaphirMatt. Matte glass: according to AEG, up to 10 times fewer visible scratches than AEG standard glass (SaphirMatt SE up to 3 times).

Induction or gas
Induction heats the pan itself, so it is fast and the surface stays cooler; it needs cookware with a magnetic base. A gas hob suits kitchens with a gas supply and must be connected by a certified technician. A gas-electric hob has both burners and electric zones.

AEG writes Hob²Hood, Electrolux writes Hob2Hood. It is the same function.
Will an AEG hob work with an Electrolux hood?
If both appliances have Hob2Hood, they can be paired. On the hood the function usually has to be activated as described in the manual.
