How to choose an AEG oven: steam and cleaning
Here are all our AEG built-in ovens, 60 cm wide. Most have a steam function, some have pyrolytic cleaning and an AirFry mode. The AEG series number (5000-9000) shows the feature level: a higher series does everything a lower one does. A short guide is below.

The function of each model is listed on its page. No water connection is needed for steam: you pour the water in yourself.
Cleaning: pyrolytic, catalytic or AquaClean
- Pyrolytic. The oven heats up to 500 °C (AEG data), grease turns to ash, and you wipe it out with a damp cloth.
- Catalytic. Panels with a special coating break down grease when the oven heats above 200 °C.
- AquaClean. Pour in 200 ml of water, the oven heats at 90 °C for 30 minutes, dirt softens and you wipe it off (AEG manual).
AirFry and SurroundCook
The AirFry mode makes food crisp with less oil and uses a dedicated tray (selected models). SurroundCook is an extra heating element around the fan: AEG states that food cooks evenly even on three levels.
