LG washer dryer or WashTower: what to know before you buy
LG washer dryers wash and dry in one appliance, so they suit a bathroom with room for only one machine. The list also includes LG WashTower: a washing machine and a dryer in one column with a shared control panel.

What to know before you buy
- Drying capacity is smaller than washing capacity. For example, the LG F2DR508S1W takes 8 kg for washing and 5 kg for drying. After a full wash you take part of the load out before drying.
- Drying uses water. In condenser drying the machine cools the damp air with water, so total water use is higher than for washing only.
- Size. Our LG washer dryers are 47.5-61.5 cm deep. LG WashTower is 60 cm wide, 165.5 cm high and 66 cm deep: check the height and doorways before you buy.
One machine or two
If there is room for two appliances, a separate LG washing machine and an LG heat pump tumble dryer can run at the same time and dry the whole load. The dryer can go on top of the washer with a stacking kit. In an independent Which? calculation, a washing machine plus a heat pump dryer uses less electricity per year than an average washer dryer.
LG features
Most models have an inverter direct drive motor (LG gives a 10-year manufacturer warranty on the motor), AI DD, which adjusts the drum motions to the fabric, and steam programmes. Wi-Fi and the LG ThinQ app are not on every model, see the specifications. More about the features: LG washing machines.

As much as the drying capacity in the specifications. It is always smaller than the washing capacity.
What is LG WashTower?
LG WashTower is a washing machine and a dryer in one column with a shared control panel in the middle. Only the washing machine needs a water inlet.
Is it better to buy two separate appliances?
If you have room, yes: a separate heat pump dryer dries the whole load and both can run at once. If there is room for one machine only, choose a washer dryer.
