How to choose a 55-inch TV
55 inches, or 139.7 cm diagonal, is the most popular size for a living room: big enough for films and sport, yet it fits a standard TV stand. Our 55-inch models are about 122-124 cm wide. Here are all our 55-inch TVs, whatever the brand or screen technology.

Is 55 inches right for my room
| Viewing distance | Recommended size |
|---|---|
| 1.2-1.6 m | 43-50 inches |
| 1.4-2.1 m | 55 inches |
| 1.7-2.5 m | 65 inches |
| from 2.2 m | 75 inches and up |
For a 4K TV a comfortable distance is about 1-1.5 times the screen diagonal. If the sofa is more than 2 m away, compare with 65-inch TVs: the price gap is often smaller than it looks.
Where to put a 55-inch TV
The body is about 123 cm wide, so the TV stand needs a top at least as wide. Some models have feet at the edges, others a centre stand: see the foot position and height with stand in the «Dimensions and weight» section of each model. For wall mounting, check the VESA size in the specifications.
