LG TVs 2026: QNED, Mini RGB and OLED compared
Every LG 2026 TV series available at 1Store: NU80, QNED70, QNED8E, QNED85, Mini RGB evo MRGB87, OLED C6 and G6, W6 Wallpaper and Gallery LX7. How they differ, what is worth paying extra for, how easy the remote and webOS 26 are, and which AI features work in Latvia.
With LG 2026 TVs the most important differences hide behind similar series names. Does the screen take 4K games at 120 frames per second? How does it control the backlight in dark scenes? Does the larger model of the same series use a different panel? In this guide we compare the 9 series and 37 models in the 1Store catalogue. We checked the technical differences in LG Latvia specifications, and in picture quality assessments we separate the maker's claims from independent test results. If you are still choosing between technologies and brands, start with our guide How to choose a TV.
In brief
6 things to know about LG's 2026 TVs
- 1The letter B means 2026. 55QNED85B3B, 43NU800B3LC: the letter after the series number is the model year, and for 2026 models it is B. On OLED models the year is the digit in the series name: C6, G6 and W6 are 2026 models.
- 2The key difference is between QNED8E and QNED85. Up to QNED8E, every LG LCD model has a 60 Hz panel and an α7 processor. QNED85 adds a 120 Hz panel, VRR up to 144 Hz, Dolby Vision, the α8 processor and 4 HDMI inputs.
- 3Mini RGB is not OLED. MRGB87 is an LCD TV with an LG Tandem LED backlight, where several colour layers give purer red, green and blue. Its strength is a wide colour gamut, but it does not give the perfect black of OLED.
- 4OLED C6 now has the flagship processor. C6 runs on the α11 Gen3, the same as G6, and supports up to 165 Hz for gaming. The 77 and 83 inch C6 also gets a brighter panel with G6's Hyper Radiant Color technology.
- 5G6 is the OLED for a bright room. Reflection Free Premium coating, Hyper Radiant Color, 60 W 4.2 sound and a 27 mm body. For evening films in a dark room, C6 gives a very similar picture for less.
- 6W6 and LX7 are bought for the interior. W6 Wallpaper is a 9 mm class screen with a wireless link to its connection box, and Gallery LX7 looks like a framed picture. Their main appeal is the look, not the picture specs.
LG's 2026 series: a quick overview
LG's 2026 TVs fall into two large groups: LCD TVs with LED, Mini LED or Mini RGB backlighting, and OLED TVs where every pixel lights itself. Both groups also include interior design models. The cards list only models in our catalogue, with prices as of November 2026. This year LG also sells QNED90, OLED B6 and Mini RGB MRGB95, but they are not in our catalogue yet.

How to read an LG model code
An LG model code tells you almost everything you need before buying. Take 55QNED85B3B: 55 is the screen size in inches, QNED85 is the series, B is the model year (2026) and 3B is the regional and design version. OLED codes are built differently: OLED65C61LA means OLED, 65 inches, C6 series (6 = 2026), and 1LA is the version.

NU80, QNED70 and QNED8E: what Mini LED gives you
These three series have a lot in common: the α7 AI 4K Gen9 processor, a 60 Hz panel, HDR10 and HLG, 3 HDMI inputs, 20 W sound with AI Sound Pro, webOS 26, Apple AirPlay and Google Cast. What differs is the backlight and the colour technology, and that is what decides how bright and saturated the picture is.

Tip. A Mini LED label alone is not a reason to pay more: LG does not list the number of dimming zones or Precision Dimming for QNED70 and QNED8E. Compare the price at the same size, the remote and the connections you need. For a second TV in the bedroom, NU80 gives you the same 4K and webOS for less.
All three series have a 60 Hz panel. They will not show PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X games at 120 frames per second: for that you need QNED85 or higher.
QNED8E or QNED85: the key difference in LG's range
The names differ by one character, but these are TVs of different classes. QNED8E is an everyday TV with good colour. Of the LCD models covered here, QNED85 is the first with a 120 Hz panel, Precision Dimming and Dolby Vision.

At 55 inches the difference is about €210. For that you get a panel twice as fast, which shows sport and games more smoothly, local dimming for deeper blacks, and Dolby Vision, used by Netflix, Disney+ and Apple TV+.
If you plan to play on a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X or often watch films in the evening, start with QNED85. If the TV is for news, series and YouTube, QNED8E is all you need.
Mini RGB evo or OLED: MRGB87 versus C6
Mini RGB evo is new for LG in 2026. It is still an LCD TV. For the backlight LG uses Tandem LEDs with several colour layers, so the light starts out with purer red, green and blue. LG states that Intertek certified it for 100% DCI-P3 and 100% Adobe RGB coverage. Unlike Micro RGB TVs (LG MRGB95, Samsung R85H), Mini RGB has no separate red LEDs and the LEDs are not driven individually. An OLED TV has no backlight at all: every pixel lights up or switches off by itself.

Myth 1
Mini RGB is the same as MicroLED.
In fact: No. In a MicroLED TV every pixel is a separate LED; it is a different and far more expensive technology. Mini RGB is an LCD backlight: the LEDs are small, but the pixels are still formed by a liquid crystal panel.
Myth 2
An OLED will burn in within a year.
In fact: Modern LG OLED TVs have pixel refresh and logo dimming. The risk exists if the same static image stays on screen for many hours every day, such as a news channel logo or a computer desktop. For G6 and W6 LG Latvia lists 5-year panel protection, but from the second year it covers only the panel, not labour, so check the terms in the warranty card.
OLED C6 or G6: what you pay for with G6
In 2026 C6 and G6 are closer than ever: both have the α11 AI 4K Gen3 processor, a 120 Hz panel, VRR up to 165 Hz, Dolby Vision, 4 HDMI inputs with 4K 120 Hz, NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility, AMD FreeSync Premium, webOS 26 and Wi-Fi 6E. The differences are in the screen, the sound and the body.

Bright room with windows, wall-mounted TV
Tip. In the RTINGS test G6 is brighter than the regular C6, handles reflections better and shows more saturated HDR colour. So it pays off in a room with large windows and if you want more impressive HDR. For evening films in a dark room the gap is smaller, and at 55 inches C6 is about €425 cheaper.
The 77 and 83 inch C6 is not the same as the smaller sizes. In our catalogue these are OLED77C61LA and OLED83C61LA, and LG Latvia lists G6's Hyper Radiant Color technology and Brightness Booster Pro for them, which raises peak brightness. In other markets this version is called C6H, but the European code has no letter H. In picture terms they are closer to G6, but not identical: G6 keeps Brightness Booster Ultra, the Reflection Free Premium coating, stronger sound and a slimmer body.
C6 is the only LG 2026 OLED in our catalogue in 42 and 48 inch sizes. They suit a small room or work as a large desk monitor for a computer and console. Both sizes keep VRR up to 165 Hz and G-SYNC compatibility, but for the 42 inch model LG lists 20 W 2.0 sound and no Brightness Booster, which LG does list for the 48 inch model.

Remote and webOS 26: how easy it is day to day
You judge the screen in the shop, but you use the system and the remote every evening for years. All LG 2026 models run webOS 26. The biggest practical difference between the series is the remote in the box.

Updates
webOS Re:New: system upgrades for up to five years; number and schedule depend on the model
The Magic Remote is LG's biggest everyday advantage: picking apps, typing and changing settings with a pointer is faster than with arrow keys. C6 and G6 also have a microphone built into the TV (Far Field Voice Recognition), so you can give commands without the remote. All three checked models support Apple AirPlay, Google Cast and Multi View for two sources on screen at once, and with SIMPLINK (HDMI-CEC) the TV remote also controls a soundbar or set-top box.
Tip. After first switching on, spend five minutes on privacy. In the settings turn off Live Plus: this feature recognises what is on screen for advertising. In the user agreements section withdraw consent for viewing information and personalised ads. Keep the terms that apps need in order to work.
AI on LG TVs: what works in Latvia
LG uses the word "AI" for two very different things. The first is picture and sound processing in the chip: the α11 Gen3 with Dual AI Engine improves sharpness and texture at the same time, AI Picture Wizard and AI Sound Wizard set up picture and sound to your taste, and AI Object Remastering processes voices, music and effects separately. These features do not depend on language and run in the TV itself. The second is conversational assistants and search: AI Hub with Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini, AI Concierge recommendations and AI Voice ID, which recognises family members by voice.
For the second group LG itself lists limits. You need internet and an LG account, partner services may change or require a subscription, and the LG Latvia page says AI Concierge, AI Chatbot and AI voice recognition work only in countries where the local language is supported. LG has not confirmed Latvian on that list.
Processing in the TV itself
does not depend on language
Depends on country and language
assistants and search
Analyst data suggests treating AI promises with caution. In its 2026 research Parks Associates notes that buyers respond best to features that simplify daily life, and separates long-established AI picture processing from the new conversational assistants: demand for a better picture does not mean people want to talk to their TV. Omdia describes the TV operating system market as a battle for platforms and data, which explains why the home screen carries ads.
Tip. Choose a TV by its panel, processor and remote. AI assistants work only in a limited way in Latvia right now, and updates can change the list for better or worse.
LG in Latvia: language, local apps and TV signal
Apps and TV
according to service providers and LG
Language and voice
according to LG Latvia documentation
Local streaming platforms matter more than AI assistants, and here the picture is good: Go3, Tet+ and LMT Viedtelevīzija list LG webOS TVs as supported on their help pages. Go3 cannot be watched in the TV browser, you need the app, and the Tet+ app requires Latvia as the device country. A separate Viaplay app no longer works in the Baltics: since March 2024 its content is on Go3.
LG does not confirm voice control in Latvian, so do not count on it. It is easier to type with the Magic Remote pointer on the on-screen keyboard, and the TV can also be controlled with the LG ThinQ app on a phone. In webOS settings the menu language, broadcast audio language and on-screen keyboard language are chosen separately.
In Latvia LVRTC still broadcasts terrestrial TV in the DVB-T standard, which a DVB-T2 tuner receives without problems. There is a CI slot for an operator card, but check compatibility with your card with the operator. Buyers in Latvia have a two-year legal guarantee, which applies to the seller, and the LG Latvia support line is +371 68688998.
LG Home Hub: controlling a smart home with ThinQ, Google Home and Matter
webOS 26 TVs have Home Hub: a screen where you can see and control LG ThinQ appliances with the remote, such as a washing machine, fridge or air conditioner, as well as other compatible devices like lights and plugs. The TV also acts as a hub for Matter devices that run over Wi-Fi.
In LG Latvia 2026 specifications, the Home Hub row now names two systems explicitly: “Yes (Google Home, LG ThinQ)” on the C6, G6, W6, QNED85, QNED70, MRGB87 and LX7. The 2025 C5 page said only “Yes”. This does not mean LG has replaced ThinQ with Google: ThinQ stays, and first-time pairing of ThinQ and Matter devices still happens in the LG ThinQ phone app, while Google Home devices can be viewed and controlled on the same screen. On the NU80, Home Hub is listed with LG ThinQ only.
Matter is a common smart home standard developed by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (formerly the Zigbee Alliance) with Apple, Google, Amazon and Samsung taking part. It runs over Wi-Fi, Ethernet or Thread. LG promises support for Matter Wi-Fi devices, but Thread and Zigbee are not listed in LG 2026 specifications. Thread devices need a separate Thread border router, such as an Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini or Google Nest Hub (2nd gen), and Zigbee devices need their own bridge. LG does not promise that the TV will then control Matter devices on a Thread network.
Home Hub
per LG Latvia specifications
In Latvia and day to day
what to check before buying
A Matter device can be added to several systems at once, so a Matter plug can be controlled from the LG TV as well as from Apple Home or SmartThings. What is shared is the device itself, not the whole system. If you have a Philips Hue Bridge or IKEA DIRIGERA, these bridges pass their Zigbee lamps on as Matter devices. “Apple Home: Yes” in LG specifications means the TV itself can be added to Apple Home and controlled from an iPhone, not that the TV controls Apple Home devices.
The Verge reports that some LG TVs acting as Google Home hubs control Matter devices locally, without the cloud, but LG does not say which Latvian models this applies to. Smart services require an LG account, and Multi View or USB camera support does not by itself make the TV a security camera hub.
Tip. If your home runs on Google Home or LG appliances, Home Hub is a handy shared screen. If you need a Zigbee or Thread hub, an LG TV will not replace it: use a separate bridge or a Google Home or Apple Home device. LG promises Matter support for Wi-Fi devices.

How we compared
We do not run our own lab measurements. The comparison is based on LG Latvia's official product pages, the EU energy label database EPREL and our product pages, whose data matches the manufacturer's specifications. Panel differences between sizes and audio format support were cross-checked against independent tests (RTINGS, FlatpanelsHD, TechRadar). Manufacturer claims (such as colour coverage and brightness) are marked as LG data. Prices and model counts come from our catalogue in November 2026. If anything changes, we will update the article.

Frequently asked questions
Can an LG 2026 TV control smart home devices?
Yes. On the C6, G6, W6, QNED85, QNED70, MRGB87 and LX7, the Home Hub screen shows LG ThinQ and Google Home devices and controls Matter Wi-Fi devices. On the NU80, Home Hub works with LG ThinQ only. Thread and Zigbee are not listed in LG specifications, so such devices need a separate bridge.
How do I recognise a 2026 LG model?
Look at the model code. On LCD models the letter after the series name is the year, and for 2026 models it is B (for example 55QNED85B3B). On OLED models the year is the digit in the series name: C6, G6 and W6 are 2026 models.
Can I control an LG TV by voice in Latvian?
No, LG does not confirm Latvian support for voice recognition on its 2026 TVs. LG states that AI voice features work only in countries with a supported local language. It is easier to type with the Magic Remote pointer on the on-screen keyboard.
Do LG TVs have Go3, Tet+ and LMT Viedtelevīzija?
Yes. Go3, Tet+ and LMT Viedtelevīzija list LG webOS TVs as supported on their help pages, and the 2026 models meet their requirements.
Do all LG 2026 TVs come with a Magic Remote?
No. In LG Latvia specifications the AI Magic Remote is included with QNED70, QNED8E, QNED85, MRGB87, LX7, C6, G6 and W6, while NU80 comes with a standard remote. Check the exact remote by the full model code.
Is QNED the same as OLED?
No. QNED is an LCD TV with a Mini LED backlight and LG's Dynamic QNED Color technology. An OLED TV has no backlight; every pixel lights itself, so black is truly black.
Which LG 2026 TVs support 4K 120 Hz for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X?
QNED85, Mini RGB evo MRGB87, OLED C6, G6 and W6. They have a 120 Hz panel and HDMI inputs with 4K 120 Hz: QNED85, C6, G6 and W6 have 4 of them, MRGB87 has 3 or 4 depending on size. NU80, QNED70, QNED8E and Gallery LX7 have a 60 Hz panel.
Which LG 2026 models support Dolby Vision?
QNED85, MRGB87, C6, G6 and W6, and QNED85, MRGB87, C6 and G6 also support it in 4K 120 Hz gaming. NU80, QNED70, QNED8E and LX7 support HDR10 and HLG. HDR10+ is not listed in the specifications of the LG 2026 models covered here, and HDR10 Pro is LG's picture processing name, not HDR10+.
Are 144 Hz, 165 Hz and Motion Booster 288 the same thing?
No. QNED85 and MRGB87 support VRR up to 144 Hz, while C6, G6 and W6 go up to 165 Hz with a compatible PC. Motion Booster 288 is a separate mode: LG lists up to 288 Hz at optimised Full HD resolution, not 4K 288 Hz. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles use up to 4K 120 Hz.
Do LG 2026 TVs play DTS audio?
DTS is not in the audio codec list of LG C6 and G6. So do not count on the TV playing DTS or passing it on via eARC. If you have Blu-ray discs with DTS sound, connect the player directly to an AV receiver or soundbar.
Can I cast from an iPhone to an LG TV?
Yes. All LG 2026 models in our catalogue have Apple AirPlay, and most also have Google Cast.
Does a 42 or 48 inch OLED work as a computer monitor?
Yes, that is exactly why people buy these sizes. OLED C6 at 42 and 48 inches has a 120 Hz panel, VRR up to 165 Hz, NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility and a pixel response time under 0.1 ms according to LG. That is grey-to-grey transition time, not total lag from button to picture, and long-lasting static desktop elements are not recommended on an OLED.
Where can I see a TV's energy consumption?
At the end of each of our product pages there is the EU energy label with SDR and HDR classes, consumption and the EPREL number. For example, OLED55C61LA uses 76 kWh per 1000 hours in SDR mode.
